Cooper's Photo Shoot

Of course, after a good morning of wide awake happy behavior,
we had to try to console him with his binky during pictures.
The photographer ended up having to come back later.

he likes to suck on his bottom lip

he didn't like being in just his diaper

Like Father, Like Son

It's amazing how much Cooper looks like his dad when he was a baby...

A Day Out

Last week we babysat Steve's little brother & sister Aaron & Mary while the rest of the family went on a pioneer trek. To start out our fun time together, we went to Cowabunga Bay. It was a fun filled day full of water, splashes, slides, and sunburns galore. :-) We discovered that it's a fun water park but too small to spend a full day there. So if we ever go again we'd only pay for 1/2 a day.

Volleyball Tourney

Pioneer Day weekend Steve played in a couples volleyball tournament in Sandy with my aunt Jenny. It was an all day event full of game after game in the blazzin' hot sun. Cooper, my dad, and I spent the day under a canopy cheering them on.

Check out how much air he got!

This is what Cooper spent most of the day doing.
Again, check out the froggy legs and raised arms. :-)

With grandpa Hessing

Cooper's in a new outfit because he peed all over himself
(not me this time) while I was changing his diaper.
The joys of having a boy! :-)

Our Little Cooper

I can't believe Cooper is already a month old and growing so fast! He now weighs 9 lbs 6 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. At his 2 week old check up he weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long-both stats in the 50th percentile.

The past month with our little Cooper has been fun. He is so enjoyable to have around and we love to watch him while he makes all sorts of Cooper sounds and movements. :-) His most popular sound is the horse sound he makes when he sleeps. He also grunts a lot. And he loves noise! He sleeps best when he's around lots of noisy people and when lights are on.

He's finally starting to sleep a little more at night. Instead of waking up to eat every 2 hours, it's every 3-4 hours. So that's a plus! :-)

Here's some pictures to illustrate his first month of his life...

First time in his crib

He loves to have his hands near his face.
If he's swaddled, he'll whine & wiggle and squirm
until his arms are out.

He loves to sleep on mommy & daddy's bed
where he always manages to sleep on his side

fell asleep while holding daddy's thumb

first time in his swing
which he loves to take naps in

daddy likes to give him mohawks :-)

Snuggling with auntie Tiffy

snuggling up next to dad

daddy washing his hair for the first time

his first sponge bath-he didn't like it very much :-)

father and son nap time

My mom was watching Cooper while I took a shower
and I think it tired her out :-)

he loves to sleep with froggy legs and his arms up

first time (& not the last) watching ESPN with daddy

first time out for lunch with Emma at Hogi Yogi

first time out for a walk in the park
his cousins Cami & Emma & auntie Tiffy came along

so peaceful

watching daddy work in the yard

getting ready to show his arm strength

still hangin' on

he loves to sleep with his daddy

Caught ya!
He loves to suck-thus the pacifier
but occasionally when his pacifier isn't there
I'll catch him sucking his thumb

he must take after his mom-I sucked my thumb till I was 5

his first submerged bath
he loved to watch the running water

with his cousin Emma who's only 7 months older
It'll be fun to see them grow up together

Steve had to train Emma on how to be close to Cooper without hitting him. She does a good job about not hitting
(or head butting) him anymore.

Instead, she takes his binky & socks away from him. :-)

we put Emma in charge of watching Cooper while we ate dinner

his "thank heaven for little boys" slippers

wearing the first outfit we bought him

*Daddy's little all star*
this was the outfit he wore his first time to church

with his aunt Mary at grandma Scholle's house for Sunday dinner

I love it when he sleeps with his hand tucked under his cheek

his first time wearing shoes-so handsome!

my two handsome boys!!!
