There's A Mouse in My House
So, we've officially caught 9 mice in our house-4 of them within the last week! And I know there's more wandering around because I hear them behind the fridge and under the dishwasher. We see them mostly in the kitchen, behind the couch, in a few closets, and downstairs. And they've chewed a hole in the corner of our living room and one of our closets. Those stupid little things! Errr. They don't seem to be getting into anything or taking anything that I'm aware of. But they sure are annoying. We never had problems with them last winter. So why now? We need to get a cat!

The Ultrasound
Here are a few pictures from our little girl's ultrasound. It was hard to get good ones because she was curled up in a ball most of the time. Which was way different then Cooper who was all over the place. :-) And yes, it's a girl. We both thought it would be but now that our thoughts are confirmed we're not quite sure what to think. I didn't care whether it was a boy or girl as long as I got a girl eventually. But now that we're having one of each, I hope they're both not the only boy or girl we end up having. Now we have to have at least 2 of each. :-) I also know Steve's scared about having a girl and we both know he needs one. I even told him he can't make fun of us girls in the house. But he didn't promise anything-yet. :-) Besides, based on such a calm pregnancy and ultrasound, I think she might be a mellow one. We'll have to wait and see though. I'm a little timid to start doing girly things cuz I've been in boy mode for so long. It'll be different but fun, and I'm excited! Now here comes the ribbons, bows, dresses, a new nursery, pink, and a girl name!
I do have to mention that when we told Steve's family, we had the exact opposite reaction as we did when we told them we were having Cooper. With Cooper, Mary was very upset it was a boy and all the boys and mom were excited. But this time, Mary and mom were really excited and all the boys moaned. It was hilarious! Maybe the whole Scholle family needs a girl, not just Steve. :-)

Labor Day Weekend in Randolph
We got to spend Labor Day weekend camping at my Great Grandma's property in Randolph. We brought Steve's family along with us so they could help my Great Uncle with roofing the family lodge. Of course, Cooper had a blast playing in the dirt, it got REALLY cold at night, and we got to spend an afternoon at windy Bear Lake. We even got to clear away all the shrubs for my Grandma's family campground. We can't wait to go back every summer and see the property develop.
more pictures to come...

Back to Work, Back to Work...
Well, I officially went back to work in August after a long, eventful, and very enjoyable summer home with Cooper. It was hard to motivate myself to go back. But once I was there it was actually nice to have a change in my daily routine. In fact, it was the first time I felt the way I had when I first decided to be a teacher. My schooling and the first few years of teaching seemed like a lot of busy work, stress, and uncertainty. But this year, I was finally able to relax, feel confident, and remember why I went into teaching-because I LOVE being around children. I remember wanting to quit at the beginning of last school year so it was awesome to feel differently this year. I think it might have had a lot to do with the fact that the third year of teaching just comes easier. :-) (and I was used to being a new mom) So bring on the new school year!
Here's a few fun pictures with my silly preschoolers...

Yes, It's True... We're expecting Baby #2!
Baby #2 is due April 5 and we're so excited! I almost didn't believe it until we went to my first doctor's appointment and heard the heartbeat. I'm currently almost 19 weeks-one week from half way! I haven't felt sick at all! I don't have as much energy though and I still get nauseous sometimes. But I did dry heave once a few weeks ago. I seem to remember doing that a lot more with Cooper. Sometimes I even forget I'm pregnant. I wonder if it's because I have work and Cooper to distract me from thinking about it. Some random foods I've craved are pickles, meat, cookies, nachos, french fries, pizza, and chocolate. Real healthy huh? :-) I'm just now starting to feel uncomfortable to the point that I can't sleep very well. And the stomach's starting to itch from growing into a little bump. I have felt the baby move a little bit and we find out what we're having on Wednesday! Steve and I both think it's a girl. Steve decided that when he heard the heartbeat and I've just had an internal instinct that it is and for some reason I'm recently obsessed with making hair bows! :-) But I guess we'll find out for sure in two days. And don't worry, I won't be surprised if it's a boy instead.
P.S. Here's how Cooper told our family...

Cooper the Past Few Months
It's been four months since I last posted an update on Cooper. I feel like he has learned a lot within these past few months. He's officially done with bottles, formula, and baby food! He sleeps 10-12 hours at night and takes a 2-3 hour nap during the day. His vocabulary is starting to develop and he's turning into our little mischievous toddler that runs all over the place, climbs all over everything and throws toys and magnets all over the house. :-)
Here are his 15 month stats: (even though he's now 16 months old)
24 lbs (45th%)
32 in long (75th%)
48 cm head (75th%)
He's our tall, skinny, and smart boy! :-)
Here's a list of what Cooper knows in order of occurrence from my memory...
Words Cooper understands:
ball/basketball/hoop-he understood these before he even started talking
somersault
belly button
no more/all gone (he gets really mad about this when his fruit snacks or candy is all gone)

book
toe
hi/bye

Adam (Steve's brother Adam lives with us and if we tell Cooper to go find Adam, he'll walk straight to his room)
giants-whenever Steve says "Go Giants!" Cooper claps. He'll also clap whenever he sees Steve's Giants jersey and hat. All during the Giants playoff games the last few weeks Cooper would stay in the room and cheer with everyone. He'd jump up and down, clap, and yell. He's even make everyone take off their hats and throw them in the air. What a cutie!

Words He says:
uh oh
fru (dog-it's ruff mixed up)

bread/toast
beans and rice
milk
fruit snacks
chicken nuggets
peanut butter
spaghetti
anything sweet-which daddy feeds him way too much of :-) This Halloween, he loved candy corn.
His third and fourth tooth are finally coming in on the top back right and left. They're molars. He blows on his food because he thinks it's always hot. Dad showed him that one. :-) If something tastes gross, he spits it out, blows raspberries, shakes his head no, closes his mouth, and makes a repetitive grunt sound which I'm assuming means no. :-) Which is the reaction we usually get when I try to feed him vegetables. That little stinker! :-)
He gives hugs and kisses (when he feels like it) and likes to push the chairs around the kitchen and play under the table. If he sees mama and dada kiss he usually wants to give us kisses too. And yesterday, I took him to the indoor playground at the mall and he was walking up to children we didn't even know and hugging them. He even tried taking a baby out of a moms arms. What a silly guy! He's a people person, that's for sure! And he still makes us laugh!
He screams when he doesn't get exactly what he wants or if we're not paying attention to him. He likes to walk under our legs. He likes to dance, pretend to play the nintendo, he loves pillow fights, climbing, and jumping off/on furniture, he can walk down the stairs and feed himself. He likes to play monkey jumping on the bed. He's starting to explore coloring. He still loves balls! He can throw, kick, and swing a bat at a ball. He's recently been into jumping up and landing on his bum. He thinks it's the greatest thing ever and he'll laugh at himself.
He's now trying to say everything we say back to him. It's so cute! He's even starting to review some ABC flash cards and we watch ABC videos. The other day he knew A all by himself. I can't believe how fast he's growing and how quickly he's learning. We love our little guy!
P.S. He's officially gone a whole week without his binki! (Only because he lost his last one of a dozen or so and we didn't want to buy anymore.) Way to go Cooper!
