An Emotional Morning

So Cooper started getting his two bottom front teeth on Saturday. I was really excited for him. But naturally with teething, he got a runny nose. Which most likely led to today...

Cooper woke up at 6am (2 hours earlier than usual) fussing out of the ordinary. So I gave him a bottle hoping it would help him go back to sleep. It didn't. After being really fussy for a few minutes, Steve finally got him to go back to sleep in our bed. When it was 8:20 and time for me to leave for work, he was still sleeping. (shocker) So I had to wake him up so I could take him to my aunt's so she could babysit him. Well, he of course wasn't happy about waking up and usually he calms down after he's had his diaper changed and I start feeding him breakfast. But he wouldn't calm down and he wouldn't eat anything. I tried rocking him and holding him which usually calms him down and it didn't work. He just kept screaming and screaming. By this point I decided it was time to take him to the doctor. So I called and made a doctor's appointment for 9:15. Then I had to figure out what to do about work. I figured my aide, Lana, could just cover the class while I took Cooper to the doctor. I called the school to tell them and come to find out, Lana called in and said she's not coming in today because her daughter had to go to the hospital so she's going to help watch her kids. When I received this news, I started to get emotional. I was aching for my baby who was so sick and stressing over the fact that I didn't want someone else to have to take care of him, then having to worry about getting a sub just added to it. I even broke down over the phone with and in front of my boss. Embarrassing. (I should let you know that Steve was at school all day taking finals so he couldn't help.) I ended up having to take Cooper with me into work for the first half hour so I could let the sub know what to do. The kindergarten aide helped out with the morning class until a sub was found, then thankfully a sub picked up the afternoon class. Much thanks to JoLynne for covering for me!

To sum up the morning... After many tears, several phone calls, an understanding boss, helpful co-workers, last minute sub plans, my mom to the rescue, a few snotty shirts, a doctor's visit, and another trip to Walgreen's, Cooper has another ear infection. And I was thankfully able to stay home and take care of my miserably sick and adorable baby. Whom by the way, has slept most of the day, he's very snugly, has no energy,  and won't eat much. He's definitely not himself. He took about a 5 hour nap when we came home from the doctors then another hour nap just an hour after his first nap. We'll see how much he sleeps tonight. Hopefully I won't lose too much sleep. And hopefully our poor little guy gets better soon.

Here's some pictures of our tired little boy...

 Still so sweet

P.S. That coming Friday I woke up with an earache. It got worse throughout the day and my throat started to hurt. I went to the doctor that night because I decided that it was an illness I couldn't solve with over the counter and home remedies. The doctor said I had strep throat! Not fun! I got the amoxicillin, stayed in bed all day Saturday and got to read a book-something I haven't done in a long time, and I felt much better by Sunday night. It's amazing the miracle of medicine and catching an illness as soon as it sets. Much thanks to my mother-in-law for watching Cooper all day Saturday so I could rest. And now I know how much pain Steve was in a few weeks earlier when he was home sick for 3 days with strep. (Except I think I might be a little tougher than he is when it comes to pain. :-) ) I love you hunny!

Spring Break

So Steve and I spent Spring Break last week at Disneyland! My mom and cousin Brittni came along with us. Cooper stayed with his Grandma Scholle. So we missed him but it was still a blast! And we'll always and forever love going back-it's just so magical and sentimental for us! It was a well needed vacation and we can't wait to take Cooper with us next summer. Here are some pictures to enjoy...

With Grandma and Grandpa C in Mesquite on Easter morning
We stayed at their house on the way there and back
Thanks Gma and Gpa!

We arrived in Disneyland early Sunday evening so we could make it to the last weekend showing of the SPECTACULAR Aladdin show-which I heard is being replaced by High School Musical soon :-{ And apparently, some of the rides were temporarily closed because of an earthquake that happened a few hours before. No, we didn't feel it. But that would've been cool if we did. :-)

Britt's first ride of the day-The Tower of Terror!
(I totally look like my sister in this picture!)

A Bug's Life 3D!

California Screamin'

The Disneyland Castle at night

A Very Merry Unbirthday...

The cutest caramel AND chocolate dipped apples ever!

But I got the apple pie one instead :-)

Mmmm Yummy!

Splash Mountain baby!
My favorite ride!

The 'Celebrate' Main St Parade-Brittni and I had front row seats
The parade was basically a 15 min dance show-very entertaining!

Peter Pan and Wendy

Tiger totally break dancing

How does he do that?

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too

Mickey and Minnie!

The Castle

After the parade, Brittni and I met up with Steve at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney
This is where Steve was most of Monday night watching the Duke and Butler game. He had front row seats, the food was AMAZING, the atmosphere was fun & loud, the screen was HUGE, and best of all-Steve had a great time!

After the first day I got huge blisters on both of my feet :-{
It was hard being on my feet the next 3 days-not fun!
(sorry if this is kind of graphic)

While in Downtown Disney, I decided to finally get us a family established sign. I love it!

Mom and Brittni riding the Autopia

Steve and me on Autopia

We got our faces painted! :-)

It's Mickey!

Tower of Terror take II
Brittni got sooo scared this time. When we were about to go on the ride, the worker asked if we had any questions. Just to be silly, I asked if we would see him again. He said, "Possibly." Then Brittni told him she wasn't scared and he got this really serious and creepy look on his face, stared right at Brittni and said "You will be!" and shut the door. This really freaked Brittni out. But the best part was after the ride, Brittni bent down to pick up her stuff then as she looked up he was right there in her face. She totally screamed like a little girl and everyone else on the ride was laughing. It was hilarious!

The best part about staying till close is that there's no lines and you can go on the rides over and over again. So we went on Splash Mountain two times in a row and we got pretty wet! Well, I think Brittni got most of it. :-)

Space Mountain is awesome!

Winnie the Pooh!

& Eeyore!

My Mommy and Walt, Mickey, and the castle

This is such a cool picture
I love the blossoms on the tree

The place where magic happens!

We're celebrating!

This was the hottest and last day we were there and I got sunburned! :-0

Love this!

The main entrance
(I seriously look SO fat in this picture-egh! :-{ )

Toy Story Mania-Brittni's favorite ride
Steve got the park's highest score that day-so cool!

Eating at the Mexican restaurant we ate at just after our engagement 3 1/2 years ago. For some reason it wasn't as good as I remember it being. And Steve decided to buy himself an apple pie caramel apple since he loved mine so much...
He only ate the caramel part-silly boy

The end of our Disneyland adventures and back on the road...
Sleepin' in the car ride home
-This is totally a blackmail picture-
Sorry mom :-)

B sleepin' away
It's amazing how twisted her body can be

We stayed the night in Mesquite Wed night then headed the rest of the way home Thursday afternoon. We had fun spending time with Grandma and Grandpa and enjoying the nice weather.

Hold your breath for the next picture...
Steve's getting a hair cut!!!
(a much needed one)

Paul and Alysa watchin' Grandma cut Steve's hair

I think he should leave it like this :-)

The garbage can full of hair
He has so much thick hair-it took about 30min to cut it all

The finishing touches...

Wala!

Steve playin' in Grandma's pool with cousin's Paul and Michael

My handsome man driven us home

After we dropped my mom and Brittni off at home, we headed to the Scholle's to pick up our baby. I was surprised at how much he grew.
It took him awhile (20min) to recognize us-especially Steve w/ his haircut

Do you like his cute Toy Story jammies we got him?
I love those rosie cheeks too :-)

Chompin' on a carrot

Our adorable little man

While he was with Grandma he didn't sleep through the night very well so he got used to sleeping with Grandma and Grandpa in there bed. And yes, it took us a whole week to retrain him on sleeping through the night in his own bed. Hopefully he'll do better next time. :-) He had fun getting into pots and pans, helping Grandma pull the laundry out of the dryer, playing on the trampoline, getting over his sinus infection, going to the park, and getting spoiled. But I think his favorite thing is that he learned how to climb up stairs...

We also gave him a Mickey Mouse shirt that totally reminds us of him...
He always puts his hands behind his head when he sleeps-just like Mickey
(p.s. don't mind the water he spilled all over his shirt just before this picture)

That's right!

Striking a pose!
