*No Sweets*

Now that Cooper is 5 months old I've decided that it's really time to try to get all my pregnancy weight off! It's really frustrating that I still have to wear my maternity clothes since I don't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes and I don't have the money to buy new ones. During the pregnancy I gained around 60 lbs and within the week of him being born I lost 30 of it and haven't been able to loose any more. It's making me frustrated. So... I'm going on a no sweets diet! I know, you're probably thinking "During the holiday's? Ya right!" But, yes! What better time to do it then during the holidays? I've already gone a week with no sweets and I've lost 2 lbs. Yeah! Let's just hope it keeps working. Within the week I've turned down two of my student's birthday treats, BJ's goodbye party dessert, my classroom treats, desserts at our ward Christmas party, my favorite mints at Applebee's, and Steve's random donuts and shake cravings. :-) Amazing huh! I've found that the more times I turn down a sweet, the easier it is to do it the next time. (I am allowing hot chocolate though-I just can't go through the winter with out it!) :-) Wish me luck!

Adorable Cooper

Here's some silly recent pics of our adorable Cooper...

Helping mom do laundry again.
He looks so tired in this picture :-)

More laundry!

Playing in his bouncer while sitting up and sticking his tongue out! :-) What a silly boy!

Watching Daddy put up the Christmas tree. He loved watching the lights blink!

Like Father like Son...

He loves the jumper!
But he can't entertain himself for very long so he gets bored after 10-15 minutes.

Here are some pictures from our ward Christmas party...

He loves playing with things that make noise. So during the party he was playing with the table cloth, a bag of candy, and the wrapped candy canes...

"Ha, ha, mom, I've got this candy cane and you can't stop me from..."

"...sticking it in my mouth!" :-)
I love his facial expression!

He got really bored with his toys today so I decided to entertain him with some household items. He loved it! It sure made a mess on the floor though. But that's what kids do, right?  :-)

Play time!

Trying to take pictures for our Christmas cards when it's past his bed time. :-)

Scholle's Ward Christmas Party

Last Saturday we went to the Scholle's ward Christmas party. There was yummy food and entertainment. We found this adorable Santa outfit for Cooper to wear. I hope you enjoy the pics...

Cooper got to see Santa for the first time!...

He didn't like it very much. So...

Santa tried distracting him with a candy can. :-)

Then Daddy fed him the candy cane :-)
He wasn't sure what to think about it at first.

Then he decided he liked it.

Here's Mary with Santa

It's Official!

Elder Benjamin Scholle is now is the MTC and 2 years in Brazil awaits him. We are so proud of him and the wonderful young man that he is. We love you BJ and wish you the best! And thanks for babysitting Cooper every Monday this past semester. You will be missed!

Cooper is 5 Months Old!!!

5 Month Stats: 16.2 lbs 27 in

Cooper has learned SO much this past month. I feel like 4 months is a big milestone for him. Here's a list of things he does and likes: He smiles, laughs, squeals, talks baby talk all the time, sits up, wiggles and scoots, plays with his feet, sucks on his hands, sticks out his tongue, blows bubbles, splashes the water during bath time, loves to be around people and noise, kicks when he's excited, plays with toys, puts toys in his mouth, is very observant of what everyone is doing, likes to play with everyday house hold items, with much concentration he puts his binki in his mouth, he eats cereal with a spoon, drinks 8 oz of milk, sleeps 12 hours at night, takes 2-3 naps, LOVES naked time, loves to snuggle, likes to be tickled, play pick-a-boo and be thrown in the air, watches Signing Time and Baby Einsteins, his hair is growing back, he loves to look at lights, listen to music, and watch movies, and he sometimes rolls from his side to his back or stomach-he still doesn't really like tummy time. He still spits up a lot and has eczema and  now he has stinky size 3 diapers and wears 6 month size clothes. And boy is he just growing up so fast. Before I know it, he'll be crawling. :-)

Here's some pictures to illustrate his 5th month of life...

He enjoys eating so much that he usually drinks while he drifts off into sleep. He also tries to hold the bottle himself but hasn't quite mastered that skill yet.
