There's Hope
Since Cooper's been sick for several weeks now, we decided to give him a priesthood blessing last night. His grandpa Scholle and dad performed the blessing. He was blessed to have his body function properly and to act like his normal self again. Right before the blessing, Cooper was really whiny so I was a little worried how he'd do. But he was so calm, he even said amen. It was very touching. Then he went right back to being whiny. :-) So...
He woke up this morning with no diarrhea diaper and he's had a huge appetite all day. Yeah! He hasn't even had a bad diaper yet. I am so glad and I sure hope he continues to progress. But only time will tell. I am so grateful for priesthood blessings!

Why?
So we're three weeks into summer now and we haven't been able to do much because Cooper and I have been sick. Thankfully, I finally feel better. But Cooper's sickness is still dragging on. Mine started out as a cold. I had body aches, chills, fever, sinus pressure, and a bad cough. It lasted a week then Cooper woke up one morning covered in diarrhea and barf. It was disgusting! So the past two weeks I've been changing lots of diarrhea diapers, washing his bedding & pajamas over and over again, cleaning spots on the carpet several times, and waking up in the middle of the night with him. Earlier this week I got what Cooper got. It was the worst stomach pain I had ever had. Cooper was so worried when I threw up and I had to run to the toilet every 30 minutes it seemed like. It wasn't fun! Luckily, it only lasted a day for me. Cooper's starting to feel better. He doesn't complain of stomach pain anymore and he doesn't barf either. But his diapers are still a bit runny. The past two days his diapers were a consistency of grits so I thought he was getting better. But he woke up this morning with a big watery one again. I so wish he'll get better soon. But my question is... Why do we have to be sick in the summer time? Sickness is for winter! I want to get out and play soon. Oh diarrhea sickness, please go away soon so Cooper can have more fun! Poor kid.

Hessing Reunion 2011 & Boise Memories
We spent this past weekend in Boise at our Hessing Family Reunion. I had been looking forward to it all year. So I was excited to go. Cooper woke up 4am Friday morning throwing up and creating several diarrhea diapers so I wasn't sure if we'd end up going or not. But we did. And Cooper did well. He woke up Saturday morning throwing up again but he was a trooper.
I was really glad my dad decided to go. He really needs his family in his life even though he may not think so. Then I was bummed that my sister couldn't come last minute because they got way too sick. But it was really nice to be able to see my Hessing cousins again. Since they all live in Idaho I don't get to see them very often. Growing up, I got to see them at least once a year but that stopped happening about 8 years ago when my grandpa past away. Then I saw them about a year and a half ago at my grandma's funeral. Now I just get to see them whenever we have reunions every other year. I'm glad we've started doing them! We weren't able to go to the last one because Steve and I were living in Memphis/Minneapolis at the time. Now I look forward to going to the next one!
We started out the reunion Friday night watching a movie in my uncle Mark's backyard with lots of yummy treats! Then on Saturday we swam in the hotel pool (in the rain) and we ended the evening with a big delicious dinner at my uncle Brent's house. Steve really enjoyed the hot fudge and brownies for dessert. :-) The great grandkids even served snow cones and cotton candy. I was really shocked at how many great grandkids there are. I forget that everyone else grows up too. It's weird to think that all the cousins are now having kids of their own. I don't even know very many of them. Hopefully someday I'll get around to learning all of their names. :-) Lastly, Sunday morning we attended a 9am sacrament meeting so we could hear my dad, his brother's Jeff and Brent, and a few of his nephews sing. I always love to hear my dad sing! Then we headed home.
Going to Boise always brings back fun memories. Mostly of grandma and grandpa's house. I remember grandpa had a fridge under his car port full of soda and he always had a stash of malt balls and black licorice in his bedroom closet. He'd also send us English Toffee every Christmas. He'd always be reading a newspaper in the kitchen or watching TV in his little room off of the side of their bedroom. He also wore suspenders. :-) I think he had some that looked like a tape measure. Grandma always had cookies in the cookie jar and she was always cooking, cleaning, playing the piano, or humming a tune. I remember the pink bathroom with the fun swinging doors. I loved to play grandma's peddle piano and my sister and I spent a lot of time in the game room. It had a pool table, air hockey table, Foosball table, and a stationary bike. Grandma had her own office next to the game room where you'd find her typing away on her type writer. Just beyond her office was grandpa's work room full of fun tools. They had an organ, grandfather clock, and a spin dial phone which I thought was all cool. My sister and I liked to play with grandpa's copy machine. :-) Grandma always had dried prunes in the cold storage. Tiff and I also liked to play in the playhouse in the backyard. I think grandpa built it. There was lots of nick knacks and pictures to look at around the house. Grandma would play her wooden spoons for us. :-) I remember everything about that house. The metal chairs, the kitchen table that came out of the back of the counter, the bear honey pots, the brown cups, the water spout on the fridge, the dishwasher dirty/clean magnet, the lazy susan full of cereal, the dog statue grandpa got to put by the front door for his mail, the piano room, the china hutch with all of grandma's best tableware, all of the bedrooms, and all of the memories. It's as if I'm still there. Oh, I wish we had pictures of the way it was because I don't think I could ever describe it to the point that someone else could envision it. I loved that place!
Another thing I remember about my childhood Boise visits is uncle Jeff's swimming pool. Snowmobiling at uncle Mark's cabin. Sleepover's at Brent's house. Most of all, playing on Bruce's farm. We'd ride horses (I remember Penny was one of the horses I liked to ride), chase the chickens on the four wheeler, feed the pigs, watch the fish in the pond, be pulled on a sled behind a four wheeler in the big field, swim in the hot tub, and sleep in the loft. It was a fun place!
Well, enough of the memories. You're probably bored. Here's some pictures from the reunion...

Cooper & Sage
We've been able to spend lots of time with the Thygerson's lately, which we've loved! And Cooper has thoroughly enjoyed his supervised dates with Sage. :-) Here are some cute pictures to illustrate...

Easter 2011
We started the Easter weekend at the Orem City Easter Hunt. We almost didn't make it in time but this kind lady helped me run the stroller with Aurora in it while I ran with Cooper. We made it just in time. Thank you to kind strangers. :-)
I had a hard time keeping Cooper from running onto the field before it was time to start. But he loved it! Especially all the candy.

Aurora's Blessing
Steve blessed Aurora on Sunday, June 5. It was a beautiful blessing. She was fussy at first but calmed down after Steve gave her the binki. :-) He blessed her to make good choices, to be an example, to be obedient, to be loving, and to find a righteous husband. I think we had well over 50 people at the luncheon we had at our house after. We served meatball sandwiches with various salads and desserts. It was delicious. Wish we didn't run out of meatballs though! :-) It turned out to be a good day and I think my mom did a great job making her dress! (I made the bow)
(I absolutely LOVE this picture)
I still have to get some more pictures from my mother-in-law's camera. I'm also going to take pictures of her in her dress again. I didn't really like how these ones turned out.
